Application Architecture - Methodology:

Discovery
Interviews in-person and by phone with expected users, administrators and IT enable us to better design and plan for the development of the application. This step provides the necessary information to create an accurate specification.

Specification

The engineering specification describes how the application will be technically designed to operate including what data structure will be accessed and created. This step is essential to gaining understanding and approval by the involved parties.

Development

Once a specification is agreed upon, the programming of each component is performed and integrated. The development is conducted on a staging platform to contain risk from altering production data. This step results in a functional application.

Test & Debug
Upon completion of development, the application enters the beta stage in which it is tested and modified to operate without errors. This step ensures that the application can be safely moved to the production platform and reliably used.

Documentation
Each project will include three types of documentation:
- User
- Administrator
- System
The user documentation describes how to use the application and is provided via a web page. The administrator documentation is designed for those who need to maintain the security and non-technical support of the application. System documentation is for technical support and extends the specification with particular information so that the application can be easily enhanced.
